Awesome system, great bang for the buck, in my opinion. This unit is so great.
I was thinking of getting one, however the price always made me put it off. I bought the Kicker after reading the reviews and liking the price.
I know someone who got a Bose i-dock and I thought it sounded "ok" but really, I was not that impressed. Awesome bass and clarity.
I put my I-pod into it, found my "party" playlist with the neat little remote control, and WOW. The volume goes up to 20, but I have only gone to 11 right now and my house is rocking.
I am so glad that I didn't get the Bose, this thing blows the Bose away. It looks really cool, also (it "looks" loud).
I've gone through several ipod docks over the years and the sound quality was a disappointment every time. Until now- the Kicker iK500 has outstanding bass and incredible volume - doesn't distort even when I crank it. Absolutely the best value for the money.
The Kicker iK500 iPod Speaker Dock is a great product IF it's compatible with your "iPod".I purchased the Kicker iK500 iPod Speaker Dock and didn't find out that the controller supplied wasn't compatible with the iPod Touch G2. The controller only controls the Kicker itself and wont control the iPod Touch. I now find out that the Kicker iK501 iPod Speaker Dock is apparently compatible with the iPod Touch G2. Oh well, I needed another door stop.
The Kicker is awesome man the sound rumbles when I play my movies on it. This Kicker system is the best sounding dock for the Ipod's. Hands down the best.It runs circles around the Bose. I have the 2nd generation,the Third Generation,The 30gig Itouch,and 8gig Nano it plays and charges all of them. You can't go wrong with this one.
I tried out just about every iPod stereo out there and the Kicker was by FAR the best. I felt it had better sound than some more expensive models such as Yamaha, Denon and HK. I didn't need radio or clock features and needed one that I can take out to the garage and crank load enough without distorting the sound. Pros:- BEST sound of all the portables- Charges the newest 2G iPod Touch (most high end units cannot)- Nice carrying handle built in- iPod fits up front protected and not sticking up off the top to get knocked off.Cons:- This ain't your typical cute iPod accessory- On the rather large side, but you get BIG sound.
